Cisco AnyConnect is a Cisco vpn client that is used to connect the devices to the corporate VPN using a secure protocol.

when trying to connect via the Cisco VPN client, clients may get the following error message ‘Failed to create session manager entry’ and the client fails to login and displays the below error message.

This can be caused by outdated clients and can be easily remediated by updating the client to the latest version.

There is a quick fix for this one as you can choose to repair the client – in the taskbar, you should see the Globe icon for Cisco AnyConnect – right click on the globe icon in the taskbar in the right corner and choose repair and this will run thru the process where it will reset the connections and re-enable the connection again.

You can also see more details by opening up the Cisco Anyconnect NAM module and right-clicking the three lines and choosing “Manage networks”

Choose “VPN” on the left side and the “Message History” tab to get more info on the details on the time frame and events.

The message history will list all the events by time slots.
