[solved] How to create an Aggregate on NetApp 2240

This short article will walk you thru on creating an aggregate from scratch thru NetApp systems manager. you can download the “OnCommand Systems Manager” from the NetApp support site. Once the system manager is installed – double click the icon to launch the systems manager

You can login using the credentials and will annually need to add the IP

Once you are logged in to the Systems Manager , Click on the “Aggregates” in the left pane as shown in the below screen shot

Click on “Create” to create a new aggregate using the Wizard

Click next to continue

Name the aggregate in the Aggregate Name” and choose the Raid type – The recommended Raid type is “RAID_DP”

Click on the “Select disks’ to choose the physical disks to add to the aggregate

You can see the available physicals disks that are available to you

You will need to select the number of disks for the aggregate

In this case 8 “SATA” disks were selected for the aggregate ,¬†Click on “Create” to create the aggregate

You can see in the below screen shot that aggregate was successfully created

Now you can setup the volumes from the aggregates.
